How can we help you?
We pride ourselves on patient education, and an important part of this is always being available to answer your questions. Your dental needs are unique, and we want to ensure that your treatment is customized specifically for you. Asking questions helps us understand what's important to you so that we can provide appropriate care.
Our team works hard to build trusting relationships so that you can feel comfortable asking us about anything that's on your mind. We have shared some of the questions we hear frequently, but you are welcome to call our office at (423) 239-8021 or fill out our convenient online contact form.
No question is too small, and the only silly question is the one that goes unasked!
When you have a dental emergency, you don’t want to worry about where or when you will be able to get immediate care. By nature, emergencies are unexpected, so we always leave time in our day for patients who need to see us right away.
If you or your child needs an emergency dentist, please call our Kingsport, TN dental office. A caring member of our team will respond immediately and arrange an appointment so we can see you as quickly as possible, usually the same day.
Of course, emergencies don’t always conveniently happen during office hours, and we want you to know that you have somewhere to turn if it is after hours. Simply call our office at (423) 239-8021 and leave a voice mail. We assure you that Dr. Hagan will get back to you right away to answer your questions and give you instructions for handling your situation until we can see you.
Please note that if a dental injury includes the face or jaw or loss of consciousness, you should call 911 or go directly to the emergency room.
If your child participates in sports-related activities, you need to protect their teeth with a high-quality athletic mouth guard. At Hagan Dentistry, we are pleased to offer customized athletic mouth guards for all members of your family.
Protecting Your Child's Teeth is Our Priority
Kids today have more sports activities to choose from than ever before. Unfortunately, contact sports like soccer, basketball, and football top the list for dental injuries. However, it’s essential to adequately protect your child’s teeth no matter what type of activity they’re involved in. Non-contact sports like gymnastics, skateboarding, and bike riding also require a protective mouth guard.
We can’t stress enough how important it is to protect your child’s teeth with a strong customized mouth guard. Dentists estimate that sports are responsible for up to 40% of all dental injuries. Children most likely to experience sports-related dental injuries are between the ages of 7 and 11.
Our Customized Mouth Guards Are Made for You
Our customized guards are made of a sturdy material that provides better protection than anything you can buy over the counter. They are made specifically for your child using impressions of their teeth. This provides much better protection than store-bought boil-and-bite guards. We can also create mouthguards in a variety of colors and even add your team's logo!
If your child needs a mouth guard, please call our Kingsport, TN dental office.
Laughing gas is more commonly known as nitrous oxide in the dental office. It’s a great option that we have in our office to help patients relax and be more comfortable during dental procedures. Nitrous oxide is mixed with oxygen and flows through a small mask that rests on a patient’s nose. Nitrous oxide does not make people unconscious (although some people get so relaxed that they do sleep). Patients are able to hear and respond to others while they are on nitrous oxide. We tell our patients that they will still know what is going on. They just won’t care as much about it.
People are often aware that it is used for dental treatment on kids, but many don’t know that it is available for adults as well. One great benefit is that it leaves your system within a few minutes of being turned off. This means that patients are able to drive themselves home afterward and don’t require a driver.
