Emergency Dentistry in Kingsport, TN

Whether you have an acute toothache or on-and-off pain, it’s always best to call your family dentist to ask if you should schedule an appointment. But in certain situations, you may need emergency dentistry at your Kingsport, TN dental office. If so, we’ll want to see you right away.

While there are many types of dental emergencies, here are two of the most common.

Broken or Dislodged Teeth

Sports injuries and falls sometimes result in broken teeth or trauma to the tissues of the mouth. In obvious cases, you know that your tooth is broken, loose, or dislodged and needs care right away. Call our office to schedule an emergency dental appointment so that we can work towards saving the tooth and alleviating your discomfort. If you have the dislodged tooth, be sure to place it in milk or the socket until you can come in.

It can be difficult to tell exactly what’s going on in your mouth, but pain is a good indicator that your teeth need attention. Bleeding and swelling can also signal damage to a tooth. However, if the tooth is intact and you don’t feel a break, chip, or crack, it can probably wait a few days. But be sure to schedule an appointment as soon as possible. Even if you don’t feel a crack or chip in a tooth, the tooth’s roots may be damaged. If left without treatment, a fracture can put a tooth at risk.

Intense Toothache

Tooth pain that becomes severe and prevents you from functioning could signal an infection. Call our office right away so that we can identify the problem and help relieve your pain.
